Maami Series - Something about the Kurta

Well, it has been quite some time since we ignored our dear Maamis. To provide you a status update, DM is on a Mama (Groom) hunt whereas SM is exploring the world of photography.

DM is always filled with deep appreciation (to the extent of joining her fan club) for SM whenever SM tries her hand at such interesting domains. Nowadays SM is kept on her toes looking for a picturesque scene that could be captured in her Nikon/Canon to be interpreted as abstract or real piece of art. Some of her masterpieces have been the stray dogs of her colony, random clouds, thirsty birds, and dirty kids!

In a recent telephonic conversation between both the Maamis (after a time gap of more than 2 weeks), they touched upon the usual topic of fashion, brand consciousness and dressing sense of today's generation (they obviously considered themselves as aliens!). Both of them took pride in recognizing the fact that somehow they identify themselves with Kurtas and that 70% of their wardrobe is full of these in their versions of full sleeved, half sleeved, sleeve-less (only applicable for DM), full length as well as the short ones. They have always been the most comfortable in this form of attire paired with either denim jeans or chudidar pajamis and salwars. They tried delving deeper into their own psyche looking for reasons to choose Kurtas to relate to. They successfully found out that Kurtas substantially contributed to hide their 'not-so-perfect' physique and that extra flab visible at various places! Also, both wanted to fit into that ethnic Indian image. Moreover, the kind of colours, variety and design they could find in Kurtas was unmatchable.

DM then savored the olden days when she used to thank God for not being that 'good-looking' as she got saved from the ever enthusiastic opposite sex. As a resultant, she could concentrate on her studies in a better manner (I really pity this Maami!). SM, on the other hand, used to be so busy bulldozing the guys, be it in academics or sports or extra-currics, she never found time to get attracted to them.

I wonder how their office colleagues would be dealing with these outcasts. May God save the world from our Maamis!

Hehe...Good to know that atleast someone religiously follows my blog! Well, the story goes like this. MM (Mumbaiya Maami) first became DK maami (DKM)as she shifted to Delhi, who in turn got converted into DM, the shorter version. Similarly, BM (Bengaluru Maami) became SR Maami and then SM.

Peepa..I dont think SM agrees to the fact that she was never attracted to guys... SM had a tragic love story (and u know it all). It never materialized and thats when her vishwas on love-shove got thrown off the window.. And the bull-dozing part continues :)
