Soul search

It is only sometimes and for somethings that you question your soul. Today was one such occasion. I wanted to know what came first for me - family or public interest. The choice may seem easy to most of us, which is family. If we take our thinking a little more deeper, we would realize it would not be easy for many of us to live with the guilt of having killed others for selfish reasons. Though we take a call in that crucial moment of desperation, a second thought connects us with our soul that suggests what God wants us to do.
This thought process started after watching the movie 'Aamir', which has Rajiv Khandelwal as the lead actor. The way the story is told is brilliant and to top it, Rajiv is amazing in his role. It is a dark movie which shows us how life of a London-returned Muslim doctor drastically changes when he visits his family in India and how he ends up being labelled as a terrorist despite his sacrificing his own as well as his family's life to save hundreds of people from a bomb blast. It is difficult to tell if Aamir saved himself from the guilt of killing so many people to save his family and helplessness for not being able to save his family from the kidnappers or did he make a supreme sacrifice.
Whom do you live for - others or self? Serving others paves way for Self liberation.

The Path I fear to tread...

There is a path I fear to tread. I know it would not lead me to my destination. But it is enticing me. I am divided into two schools of thought. One says, "listen to your heart", and the other says, "stay focussed on your goal". I am trying to help others come out of their gloom. But who will rescue me from this mire! I encounter unknown emotions and distorted personalities. I don't know how to deal with both. I feel lost in this new world. But I know I am strong enough to come out of this web...I am hopeful.

Being a girl...

Ever asked a girl how does it feel being of the female gender? Now you would say when I never asked a guy, what is so special being a girl? I would say, it wouldn't have been if the Indian society wouldn't been a male chauvinistic society. People say it is the weaker sex, the reason being that we are dependent on our male counterparts for leading our lives. Although it has been proved wrong by many bold females by challenging and going against the generally accepted rules and regulations for girls, there are still several areas, where the battle is still on.
