Engaged these days...

I know it's been really long. Feels quite good to get back to peek into our Maamis' lives!

Well, finally all your good wishes worked for DM. Her childhood dream of getting married to a Tam Bram Mama (the name is VCV) is now going to be realized, much to her relief (and surprise). She got engaged on 7th of Nov'10 in Coimbatore, at her would-be inlaws' place. The function was a close get-together of only a few relatives, who were quite enthu to participate in the rituals and guide both set of parents. Leading them all was the Vadiyaar (priest), who was conducting it all. He was enjoying his position as a chief commanding a tribe! Tribe members simply chose to follow (the easier way out, for sure). He also prepared some documents (not legally binding of course) on behalf of both the sides entering into an agreement sort of a thing for the proposed marriage, on 21st of Mar'11. They were read out aloud, as an announcement so that any objections to the forthcoming marriage can be dealt with now only (as if DM's ex-BFs would have come hunting for her in this function :P).

Pics were being clicked by the younger members of the family (cousins from both sides). Videos were also shot to embarrass DM and VCV (to tell you the truth, VCV was all red). Overall, it was really good. DM, as usual, was in her ever-talking mode to gel well with VCV's family.

Around a month after engagement, it seems like ages since the event happened!

The Path I fear to tread...

There is a path I fear to tread. I know it would not lead me to my destination. But it is enticing me. I am divided into two schools of thought. One says, "listen to your heart", and the other says, "stay focussed on your goal". I am trying to help others come out of their gloom. But who will rescue me from this mire! I encounter unknown emotions and distorted personalities. I don't know how to deal with both. I feel lost in this new world. But I know I am strong enough to come out of this web...I am hopeful.

Being a girl...

Ever asked a girl how does it feel being of the female gender? Now you would say when I never asked a guy, what is so special being a girl? I would say, it wouldn't have been if the Indian society wouldn't been a male chauvinistic society. People say it is the weaker sex, the reason being that we are dependent on our male counterparts for leading our lives. Although it has been proved wrong by many bold females by challenging and going against the generally accepted rules and regulations for girls, there are still several areas, where the battle is still on. Now without getting into the details of "Equality for Women in society" issue, I would take the case of one my friends. Let me call her Ms. M.
